Welcome and thank you for visiting. My name is Stacy N. Broun (pronounced like "Broone") and I am a clinical psychologist. I have been in practice in Dallas, TX since 1982.
If you are seeking the services of a mental health professional, I know that it can be a confusing and frightening experience. (This might be a good time to read the tabbed portion on "Commonly Asked Questions").
Please take a moment to visit the different sections on my site as they will give you some information about me, my training, and my practice as a licensed clinical psychologist.
You can also click on different articles to read about specific issues in mental health, diagnosis, and treatment, and other issues in psychology to educate you in making your decision. Furthermore, if you wish to make an appointment, you may print and fill out the two practice forms prior to coming in.
In my work as a therapist, I try to employ the following:
-recognizing that each of us is a "work in progress" and that my first goal is to help you define the problems that are preventing you from living the life that you desire
-looking at the patterns that have kept you from achieving your goals, and why they persist
-deciding how to change those patterns if you so desire
Finally, I know that my role as your therapist is that of a "tour guide" into the workings of your feelings. YOU are always in control of how quickly that occurs and the stops made along the way. We will both participate in the journey, but it is ultimately your decision as to where we/you end the trip...
Please...if you have a question, do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail or phone. I look forward to talking with you.
